Empowering women in a new way

Droplet Health is working to be the first easy and painless way for women to monitor their health from home through menstrual blood. The stealth stage startup needed design help to secure funding and FDA approval to continue to pursue that mission.

The team wanted to create a brand that empowers women, isn’t too sterile, is trustworthy, but also appeals to 16-30-year-olds, who they believe will be their biggest audience.

Clarifying the vision

After talking with the founders it was clear they had a vision for where they wanted the brand to go but were lacking the tools to express it. We spent time doing a branding workshop together to really nail down what they had in their minds, then I took those ideas and turned them into mood boards. From there we were able to distill a direction to move forward with.

Creating a visual brand that empowers

Explorations were whittled down and the brand book was created and finalized. The palette was feminine but powerful and the logo simple yet sophisticated, with a nod to menstruation. Since the company was quite young and we were limited in budget, we stuck to open-source fonts that allowed the founders a lot of flexibility.

Turning the brand into an experience

Once the brand book was solidified, I started to bring the brand to life. This started with their new marketing website, but lead into the creation of stickers, business cards, product packaging and totes.

Expanding to include other genders and purposes

After years of focusing on women’s health specifically, the founding team decided to expand the testing options to include other genders. With a renamed to Kit, the company now offers comprehensive at-home health & lab testing solutions that will help more people gain access to health insurance policies.

I continued to partner with the founders to help with logo concepting for the brand. As I was unable to devote more time to the project, we brought in Founders & Co to continue to support the companies new direction, including the development of their new kit.
