In the fall of 2021 Shopify launched the Shopify NFT beta program which allowed merchants to sell NFTs on their stores. After 4 months of the program and lots of learnings, we built an extension to the Shop App which allows merchants to tokengate merchandise using NFTs.

Tokengated commerce allows merchant’s to give their community early access to drops or exclusive access to limited edition merch, experiences, and more when they connect a wallet to their Shopify store.

To bring tokengated commerce into the market the Money Studio team worked on a dynamic and playful video with Doodles, and created a custom landing page to showcase how tokengated commerce can open a whole new world of experiences for customers.

Sharing the story of next-level shopping experiences

What started off as a wild idea and some simple sketches, turned into a full scale multimedia production with a short 6 week timeline. None of that would have been possible without incredible internal teamwork, a trusting partnership and relationship with Doodles and our external vendors Futuristic Films and Make Visual.

For this video we chose to cast professional skater, Monica Torrs, who skates for Volcom, a Shopify merchant. This was a natural opportunity to showcase another amazing merchant while bringing this product story to life.

This video is leveraged on the the tokengated commerce landing page, along with Shopify's first Summer Edition's release and all over social media.

It was also brought into the real-world and was featured at Doodles’ space during NFT.NYC, where the team partnered with Doodles to to bring their community a credit card enabled minting machine.
